Limestone Heritage

The Limestone Heritage is a unique 20,000,000 year old journey, beginning at the very birth of the Maltese Archipelago.
Starting with a multi-lingual audiovisual presentation in our modern, state of the art auditorium, along with a commentary accompanied by music and sound effects.
Discover how rock was used to create places for shelter and burial, for worship and for defense.
Encounter lifelike dioramas, see at first hand how stone was cut and dressed, an ancient fossilized seabed, 2400 year old Punic tombs, a 30 foot high waterfall, an array of authentic exhibits and amusing curios such as the colorful 1937 Dodge Lorry.
Wander through typical Maltese architecture and watch a master craftsman carving masterpieces in the honey colored limestone or you can put you hand to work and under the guidance of our craftsman, you can carve your own souvenir in limestone.
Finally relax in the shade of our citrus grove as peacock roam around freely or in the comfort of a modern visitors centre, housing a cafeteria and a gift shop selling authentic souvenirs.

An attraction unique in Europe where the past meets the present and nature meets man.
