My wife, 22 month old daughter and I have just returned from a 10 day holiday at Mellieha Bay. It was our first holiday with our little one and we were naturally concerned as to how she would cope with the whole experience. With regard to the location, Ghadira beach in Mellieha Bay is the most ideal beach for children. It is very shallow for a long way out and subject to little in the way of currents. Our daughter took to it very quickly and often stayed in the water so long that we had no chance to dry out! We recommend this beach for children. Our greatest appreciation is for the people of Malta. We experienced nothing but the best concern, consideration and help wherever we travelled, be it locally, on the busses or in Valetta. Our daughter was treated with great kindness, warmth and hospitality by Maltese people from children to grandparents - as indeed were we. This made our holiday real magic and ensured that we will return as soon as is feasible. We thank the people of Malta for our welcome and wish you the greatest success in developing your country.
