White Tower Bay is also an indent in Marfa Ridge, facing Gozo. It has a stretch of a few metres of shallow sand and another part is rocky. The bay has taken its name from a small tower at the edge of the rocks, overlooking Gozo. White Tower Bay is enclosed by a fortification wall that was built by the knights. A small area on the beach has been closed off by means of ropes, to avoid trampling on protected flora, in particular the Pancratium maritimum. A number of beach houses were built by locals to serve as their summer residences.
