 Thomas Bömkes

Thomas Bömkes

Thomas is Managing Director of Diversity Tourism GmbH based in Munich, Germany. A consulting and marketing agency, specialized in developing strategies, organizing b2b events and promoting products in different tourism niche markets, especially LGBT and Medical Tourism. Since 2010, Diversity Tourism has partnered with ITB Berlin, ITB Asia and the ITB Academy to develop both tourism segments worldwide.

The company also operates the online travel portal TomOnTour.com and publishes different travel guides in the German market.

After graduating at Munich’s University with a Masters degree in economics in 1996, Thomas worked as a marketing consultant since then in different positions. He has also been a member of the board of directors of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) from 1999 - 2009.

   
 Frederic Boutry

Frederic Boutry

Born and raised in France, Frederick Boutry graduated with a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Paris II Assas. His first job was in Human Resources. He moved to Brussels in 1995 to run his own business opening a successful restaurant, “Le Fils de Jules.” A few years later, in 2000, he launched GUS MAGAZINE, one of the first European Gay Lifestyle magazine as editor and publisher.

GUS, edited in two print editions, reached distribution in more than 25 countries worldwide, before converting into a successful online edition in 2010. Along with the magazine, GUS organized promotion event in most of the European capitals for many years. Since 2010, Frederick has joined VISTIBRUSSELS as a specialist of the gay and lesbian segment to make Brussels one the gay-friendliest capitals of Europe.



 Stephan Gellrich

Stephan Gellrich

Dr. Stephan Gellrich works as an executive coach and senior expert for Accenture Management Consulting, where he specializes in change management for large-scale transformation projects in the Products Division.

He leads the Agile Organization Offering in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Russia and is head of Accenture’s LGBTQI/PRIDE Network in these countries. In October 2018, he got awarded a position on GERMANY’S TOP 100 OUT EXECUTIVE-Ranking.

Before working for Accenture, Stephan consulted in Change Management and Leadership with EY, Capgemini and Malik Management St. Gallen. Furthermore, he worked as an academic in that field at ESCP-Europe in Paris as well as at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico.

   
 LoAnn Halden

LoAnn Halden

LoAnn Halden is Vice President-Communications for the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association, the global leader in advancing LGBTQ travel. IGLTA’s mission is to provide information and resources for LGBTQ travelers and expand LGBTQ tourism globally by demonstrating its significant social and economic impact. In her role, LoAnn frequently speaks to global media outlets about LGBTQ tourism trends and has participated in travel sessions for consumers and trade on five continents, including WTM Africa, Barcelona LGBTI Tourism Summit, the New York Times Travel Show, GNetwork360 in Buenos Aires and the JATA Expo in Tokyo. She is based in Fort Lauderdale, home to IGLTA headquarters, and London.

   
 Philip Ibrahim

Philip Ibrahim

Born in the South of Germany in Stuttgart Philip Ibrahim was – after various stations in Germany, as well as in Africa - taken by storm by the charm of the capital. He developed and founded 2011 the "pinkPillow Berlin Hotel Collection" as an initiative within the Berlin Destination Marketing "visitberlin". In addition to his role as general manager of the Mercure Hotel Berlin City, he is still closely linked to the success story of the bound of almost 60 hotels and heads the initiative as the speaker and head of the working group.

   
 Rika Jean-Francois

Rika Jean-Francois

Rika Jean-François holds a Masters Degree in Social Anthropology and Iranian Studies with an expertise on ethnic identities, sustainable development and diversity issues from the Free University of Berlin, Germany.

She started to work in tourism as a tour guide in Greece, while studying at the University of Crete and as an incoming agent in Athens. In Germany, she became a counselor at the University’s International Academic Exchange Office and travelled as a researcher to Iran, Malawi, and Haiti.

Ms. Jean-François obtained an additional qualification in Quality Management, working on the evaluation of development aid workers' education for the German Development Service. Since 2004 she has been with Messe Berlin and vitally developed ITB’s Corporate Social Responsibility. As ITB’s head of CSR, she is a passionate speaker at sustainable tourism events internationally. Putting an emphasis on human rights and diversity, she has spearheaded ITB’s implementation of the LGBT travel segment and was a member of the board of directors of the IGLTA (International Gay&Lesbian Travel Association) for 5 consecutive years – currently, she serves on the board of the IGLTA Foundation. She is also a board member of PATA (Pacific Asian Travel Association) and The Code, supports many international sustainability committees and is a jury member at several global responsible tourism contests. At ITB, she is also heading business relations in India as well as ITB’s official Partner Country program.

   
 Peter Jordan

Peter Jordan

Peter Jordan is a consultant and researcher specialised in the curation and interpretation of consumer trends for diverse clients from inside and outside the tourism industry. In a career spanning over a decade, he has developed a reputation for delivering insights on travel and consumer trends that are trustworthy, thought-provoking and inspire people to take action. In recent years he has become widely respected for his work in the LGBT segment, charting the trends that are shaping this diverse market and carrying out consumer research. Peter has authored both editions of the ground-breaking Global Report on LGBT Tourism for the United Nations World Tourism Organization and in 2018, The Handbook on LGBT Travel in Europe, for the European Travel Commission

Thomas Roth, Founder 

Thomas Roth, Founder of Community Marketing & Insights launched the company in 1992, and has served as its President for 25 years. Tom is now primarily dedicating his industry-leading expertise to head up Community Marketing's Research and Development division, which produces the annual LGBTQ Community Survey, the annual LGBTQ Tourism & Hospitality Survey, as well as custom surveys and focus groups for a variety of market leaders in tourism, hospitality, retail, finance, beverages, real estate, insurance, health care, government, etc., and conducts educational training seminars for corporations and organizations.

Tom earned his MBA at Maharishi University of Management in 1985. He is a long-time instructor of the Transcendental Meditation program, and is a volunteer teaching meditation to people living with HIV at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

   
 Matt Skallerud

Matt Skallerud

Matt Skallerud, president of Pink Banana Media, specializes in LGBTQ online marketing, targeting gays & lesbians via content marketing, social media, programmatic ad banners, mobile smartphone apps and more. He also specializes in search engine optimization (SEO), key word / search advertising (PPC) and social media analytics. He's been in the LGBTQ online industry for over 20 years now.

Matt Skallerud began his online career in May 1995 with the launch of GayWired.com, which became one of the top 3 LGBTQ websites worldwide. Having worked with companies, large and small, for more than 20 years to reach the LGBTQ online consumer through this site and others, he is now focused on the most cutting-edge global innovations in programmatic ad buying, social networking, and Web 2.0 technologies. He empowers his clients to reach the LGBT market using the most advanced techniques taking hold in the online marketing world today, including Real-Time Ad Bidding (RTB), Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google Plus, YouTube, blogs and others.

In addition, Skallerud is the former Board Chairman of the International Gay & Lesbian Travel Association (IGLTA) and has served on the boards Travel Gay Canada (TGC) and the LAGLCC. He is actively involved with key national LGBTQ organizations including the NGLCC and Lambda Legal, just to name a few.

   
 Leslie Vella

Leslie Vella

Leslie Vella was born in Floriana, Malta in 1964 and graduated from the University of Malta with a BA (Hons) in Business Management in 1988.

He can boast of a 36-year career in tourism with the Malta Tourism Authority where he has occupied various senior management positions in the organisation and is currently Deputy CEO and Chief Officer Strategic Development. His major expertise is in the fields of Policy, Strategy, Tourism Research and Planning.

Amongst his duties at the Malta Tourism Authority, he currently manages the setup responsible for executing Malta’s Airline Route Development Strategy and is Malta’s Focal Point to the UNWTO.

   
Jaume Vidal

Jaume Vidal

Jaume Vidal works as an International Promotion and Marketing Specialist for the Barcelona Tourism Board. He is particularly involved in the promotion of Barcelona as an LGBT destination.
