Kordin III

Three prehistoric megalithic temples once stood at Corradino Heights overlooking the Grand Harbour. They have been named Kordin I, II and III. Today only one has survived the test of time - Kordin III.

The Kordin III prehistoric temple dates back to 3,700BC. It is one of the most complete from the period beyond the major temple complexes of Tarxien, Ħaġar Qim & Mnajdra and Ġgantija. It vaunts of the largest prehistoric paved fore court and also unique stone through.

Archaeologists have found a long stone with seven holes in it. It has been thought that wheat was ground inside these stones so as to produce flour. Pottery in the shape of deep bowls with red and white designs as well as various pre-historic tools may also be seen on site.
