The Strada Stretta Concept, under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation, presents, 'Droning the Classics', under the artistic direction of Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci.
'Droning the Classics' is a concert with pianist Emel Hasanoglu and violinist Reggie Clews.
Reggie and Emel have already collaborated on several musical performances including performances with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and the Malta Organ Festival activities. They are also not new to the Strada Stretta Concept programme of artistic activities and their performances always provoked great enthusiasm.
They quickly discovered they shared a love for a similar genre of repertoire. Because of this they formed this now quite popularly recognised duo. Many are the concerts and recitals in store.
Due to the great success of Strada Stretta's Opera 'Carmen' Bizet's masterpiece has now become a symbol for the Strada Stretta programme. With this in mind Emel ( who was music coordinator and pianist in this production) and Reggie ( who is in love with this Opera) will be presenting their fantastic interpretation of a Carmen Fantasy, besides the beautiful repertoire chosen.
