Situated in the former premises of the local council in Mġarr, the unique and captivating Tempra Museum is a treasure trove of spectacular art pieces by many of the forefathers of modern art. Inaugurated in 2012, it is Malta’s only permanent modern art museum.

The museum is home to paintings, graphics and sculptures by 250 artists from 75 countries, spanning most of the prominent art movements of the 20th century, such as, surrealism, cubism, futurism and more. Its collection also includes a number of Fusionism paintings and works from other 21st century movements.
Wandering through the venue’s three stories, visitors can marvel over works by Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, and many other pioneers of modern art. A hub of creativity, the Tempra also hosts a wide array of temporary exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
