The military, hostile and defensive aspects of Valletta will be the theme of the next cultural tour which will be held on Sunday 16 February. This cultural tour – the fourth in the series - will visit the Fortress Builders, the Fortifications Interpretation Centre which is intended to convey the rich and important story of Malta’s architectural military heritage. The tour will also visit the Armoury at the Grandmaster’s Palace as well as the Second World War shelters at the Auberge de Baviere. Led by professional guides, the tour will also visit the church dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene which is being restored to its former glory.
Organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, these monthly cultural tours have now become a part of the calendar of events which are followed by many participants who want to increase their knowledge of our Maltese heritage.
Departure will be from near a leading hotel in Floriana at 8.45am. Tickets sell for €12 for adults and €10 for the elderly and children.
