The JP2 Foundation will be commemorating the first centenary from the birth of Karol Wojtyla and the 30th anniversary from the first Pontiff visit to the Maltese Islands in three localities by hosting the KING’s SCHOOL WORCESTER CHOIR from the United Kingdom. This choir was founded by Henry VIII in 1541. It is a Cathedral Choir School and educates all of the Cathedral Choristers. The School Choir sings regularly in Worcester Cathedral and includes pupils aged 11 – 18. They sing a wide range of sacred and secular music. They tour Europe every two years most recently to Venice and Paris. 

The King’s School Worcester Choir will be visiting three localities; the first is in Gozo, the locality of SAN LAWRENZ. The Concert will take place at Saint Lawrence Parish Church on Saturday 15th February 2020 starting at 7.00pm (immediately after the service will end). This event is in full collaboration with San Lawrenz Local Council and the Parish Church.

The second locality which will host this choir is the locality of Floriana in Malta, Floriana had the privilege of hosting Pope Saint John Paul II during the mass on the Granaries. The choir will be animating the Sunday liturgy mass at St. Publius Parish Church on Sunday 16th February 2020 starting at 9.00am. The event will be live televised on TVM2.

The third locality to be visited by the King’s School Worcester Choir is the locality of Sliema. The choir will perform a sacred music concert at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish Church known as the Sacro Cuor Sanctuary, on Monday 17th February 2020 starting at 6.15pm (immediately after the service will end).  This event is in full collaboration with Tas-Sliema Local Council and the Franciscan Fathers.
